The World XI squad will arrive in Melbourne on Thursday 29 September for a week of preparation ahead of the One-Day International leg of the Johnnie Walker Super Series.
The following are the media and practice arrangements for the week:
Wednesday 28 September
Media conference
What: ICC World XI coach, John Wright (and Australian captain Ricky Ponting) will conduct a media conference and pitch inspection at Telstra Dome
Who: John Wright and Ricky Ponting
Where: Media Centre, Telstra Dome, Docklands (report to service entry, Bourke Street)
When: 11.30am media conference followed by photo opportunity on field of play
Thursday 29 September
Media opportunity - vision only at international arrivals
What: ICC World XI squad arrive at Melbourne Airport
Who: ICC World XI squad (excluding Andrew Flintoff and Rahul Dravid)
Where: Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine, Victoria
When: 0530
Notes: Flight no: EK406
Media conference
What: ICC World XI ODI captain, Shaun Pollock and chairman of selectors, Sunil Gavaskar will conduct a media conference

Media open day
What: Open media session with ICC World XI squad
Who: All ICC World XI ODI squad (except Flintoff and Dravid)
Where: Junction Oval, Melbourne
When: 11.30am - 1.30pm
This `Media open day' at Junction Oval is the main opportunity for electronic and print media in Melbourne to undertake one-on-one interviews with players from the ICC World XI side. Twelve of the players will be available for interview. Media with specific requests should contact ICC World XI Media Manager, Jon Long, with details of the players they would like to speak to during this session. A light lunch will be provided and there will be desk space available but there are no facilities for media seeking to file from the venue.

Practice at Wesley College, Glen Waverley campus
What: ICC World XI practice session
Who: All ICC World XI ODI squad
Where: Wesley College, Glen Waverley campus, Melbourne (please note, this is NOT the campus in Prahran)
When: 10.30am - 1pm
To be confirmed: Andrew Flintoff and Rahul Dravid may be available to the media after this session. Specific media requests for these players should be arranged in advance with Jon Long. There are no media facilities at Wesley College, Glen Waverley campus
Sunday 2 October
Practice match against Victoria at Junction Oval
What: Practice match against Victoria at Junction Oval
Who: ICC World XI v Victoria
Where: Junction Oval, Melbourne
When: 10.15 start (50 overs-a-side match)
Admission to the venue is free for media and spectators. There will be a dedicated press box for 20 working media. This press box will have working desks but not phone lines and spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Reserved seating will be available for additional media. Non-rights holding TV stations are permitted to access this match for news access along with rights holders. There will be a media conference with an ICC World XI player after the match.
NOTE: The Australian team will arrive in Melbourne on this date and will have an `Open Media Session' with their players during the afternoon - further details to be confirmed by Cricket Australia.
Monday 3 October

Who: All players from ICC World XI and Australia squads, Victorian Premier Steve Bracks and Lord Mayor of Melbourne, John So.
Where: Federation Square , Melbourne .
When: 1pm - 1.40pm
