Stuart MacGill was reported under the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) Code of Conduct Rule 1 (h) following an incident that occurred in Colombo on Monday night.
Rule 1 (h) states: "Players and officials must not engage in public acts of misconduct, or unruly public behaviour, while representing Australia or their State."
A meeting of the Tour Executive, made up of Tour Manager Steve Bernard, captain Stephen Waugh, coach Geoff Marsh and vice-captain Shane Warne, took place on Tuesday to hear the case and MacGill was found guilty of a breach of the Code.
