Mohan de Silva welcomes home Muralitharan

MESSAGE FROM MOHAN DE SILVA , PRESIDENT- SRI LANKA CRICKET

It is with great pleasure that I send this message of welcome to the world record holder Muttiah Muralitharan and our victorious cricket team, on their arrival in Sri Lanka after a successful tour of Zimbabwe.

I regret very much, my inability to be there in person to receive them, as I am compelled to be out of the country on official work.

It is not everyday that Sri Lanka gets the opportunity of welcoming a team that comprises of a world record holder while being able to claim of breaking a world record as a team as well. This is indeed a memorable day for all Sri Lankans.

I, together with the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, wish Murali all the very best and would like to take this opportunity to assure him that we at SLC, would always stand by him whatever the circumstances, We would also like to express our delight at the performance of the whole team and wish them similar success for the on coming Tour of Australia and the Asia Cup to follow.
