Moin blasts hurricane century in one-day cup

Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan smashed a blistering unbeaten 148 off only 87 balls in PIA's crushing nine-wicket victory over Dadu in the NBP One-day Patron's Cup at UBL Sports Complex Sunday.

Moin, the PIA captain, clubbed 14 boundaries and seven sixes as his side reached a target of 227 in 23.4 overs to achieve their third straight win in Pool 'B'.

Moin, who opened the innings, overshadowed Yasir Hameed (55 off 37 balls, five fours) in the unbroken second-wicket stand of 211.

Moin reached his hundred off 65 balls with 12 boundaries and four sixes.

Earlier, Dadu batted well to post a respectable 226 for four in their 50 overs after winning the toss. Former Pakistan Under-19 batsman Shahid Qambrani slammed 74 off 91 balls with the aid of five boundaries while opener Mohammad Saleem contributed 70 off 101 deliveries. He struck six fours.

Later in the innings, Rizwan Ahmed scored an enterprising 48 off 45 balls, hitting a brace of fours and a six.

Off-spinner Shoaib Malik captured two for 40.
