Murali Kartik, who underwent a shoulder operation to his bowling arm in Australia six weeks ago, says he will be fit to resume his interrupted cricket career in two months' time.
"I underwent an operation to remove a cyst. I was playing cricket for the last six or seven months with the problem which made throwing very painful," he told PTI. "I am expecting to regain fitness to play cricket in two months' time. I am undergoing rehabilitation currently."
Kartik has not played for India after appearing in a couple of matches in the one-day series in Pakistan in February. Asked whether he would aim to get back into groove by playing in England, Kartik said, "Yes, if I get a chance like last year when I played for Lancashire towards the end of the county season."
