Graham Napier has signed a two-year contract extension with Essex. His contract was due to expire this year, and has been extended to 2007.
Napier, 25 - who has only played five games this season due to an ankle injury - told essexcricket.org.uk: "My current deal with Essex finishes at the end of this season, so I am delighted to have signed a two-year extension to take me up to 2007."
Essex have had a poor season in the County Championship, where they are mid-placed in the second division, but have fared better in the National League. They lead the 1st Division with 30 points, and a game in hand.
