National Bank Series 2001 Sri Lanka to New Zealand

New Zealand Cricket have today confirmed an amendment to the Itinerary of the tour of New Zealand by Sri Lanka in January/February 2001.

The tour itinerary now includes a warm-up game against a Selection XI in New Plymouth on Sunday 28th January. This game has been added to the itinerary after the Sri Lankan team advised of their earlier arrival in New Zealand, and also their request for a warm-up fixture prior to the commencement of the One Day International Series.

The Selection XI will be made up of players from those North Island based Provincial teams that do not qualify for the Shell Cup Finals which are being held at the same time.

Pukekura Park, New Plymouth has been selected as the venue because of its traditional support of International Cricket and also because it is a venue which will not be used by Central Districts should they qualify to host the Shell Cup Finals.
