Mr Anderson, previously the Regional Development Officer for the East-Asia Pacific (EAP) region, will commence duties in the ICC's Melbourne Office immediately upon his return from the ICC Six Nations Challenge in UAE, where he is currently the ICC Event Manager.

ICC Global Development Manager, Matthew Kennedy, said that Anderson emerged the successful candidate from an extensive selection process, and very large and impressive field of candidates.

"Tim has been the ICC EAP Regional Development Officer since October 2000 and has already contributed significantly to the progress of the game in the Region.

He brings to the position a well-developed set of management & operational skills as well as an intense knowledge of, and passion for, cricket development in the ICC EAP's Associate and Affiliate Member countries," said Mr Kennedy.

Mr Anderson said that he was looking forward to this new role.

"Cricket is growing in popularity in many countries involved in the ICC EAP Development Program and therefore this is an exciting time to take up this position.

I am looking forward to assisting all regional stakeholders in our collective objective to continually expand cricket beyond its traditional boundaries," said Mr Anderson.

Interest in cricket has grown considerably in the ten Member countries of the EAP Region since the ICC Development office was established four years ago.

On research figures recently released, regional participation numbers have now surpassed 21,000, up from 5,700 in the year 2000.
