Canty to host cricket
Canterbury is to host a one-day cricket tournament for second XI provincial teams this season. Teams from Canterbury, Auckland, Wellington, and Otago will compete against each other at Hagley Oval, from December 27-30. Canterbury cricket coach Garry MacDonald welcomed the new tournament, saying the demise of the national second XI competition two years ago had impacted on development programmes.
