New Zealand Cricket chief executive Martin Snedden told Wisden CricInfo today that there was some "good stuff" in the report.

"It showed that the complex has been a really good investment by New Zealand Cricket but it also reminded us that we can't just reflect on what we have got.

"When you look at something that's your own possession you tend not to be so subjective.

"But the report was hugely encouraging and confirmed it is in great shape.

"However, it also identified how we can make it better," he said.

The HPC wasn't just about quality, it was also about forcing yourself to extend yourself beyond what you were doing, he said.

"The report said that it is not a training centre, it is meant to be a centre of excellence and we shouldn't settle for what is normal but about getting the best possible result from what we have," he said.

Snedden said that the New Zealand sports funding agency SPARC would be continuing to provide some financial assistance for the complex.
