New Zealand v India

At Hamilton, January 14, 2003 (day/night)

At Hamilton, January 14, 2003 (day/night). New Zealand won by six wickets. Toss: New Zealand.

After two face-saving wins, India ended the tour as they began it - with a gruesome batting collapse. Tuffey and Mills did the early damage on yet another untrustworthy pitch, before three wickets fell on 44. Adams took two of them, and added two more after Yuvraj Singh and Kumble had wrung some life from the tail. Srinath and Zaheer Khan fought back with the ball, causing a New Zealand wobble, and the result might have been closer had Srinath, looking for his 300th one-day wicket, not spilled a dolly off his own bowling when Styris had six. Styris was to add a match-winning 84 with the stylish Fleming as New Zealand romped to a 5-2 series victory.

Man of the Match: S. P. Fleming. Man of the Series: D. R. Tuffey.
