England opener Matthew Dowman batted his way into the record books with a magnificent 267 on the second day of the Under-19 Test against the West Indies at Hove last month. The lefthander achieved the highest individual score by an England Under-19 player.

One of the world's greatest cricketers Sir Donald Bradman remains to be in public demand despite reaching the age of 85 on August 27. "Barely a day goes by without mail arriving from overseas, interstate and locally addressed to Sir Donald," South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) executive manager Barry Gibbs said in Adelaide on the 85th birthday of the great Don Bradman.

West Indies all-rounder Jimmy Adams will increase the Caribbean connection in the English county game when he joins Nottinghamshire on a one-year contract. Master batsman and former captain Javed Miandad is the highest paid Pakistani in both Tests as well as One-day internationals, revealed an investigative story published in a national daily. Miandad with 121 Tests, is in the top slab by virtue of which he is paid Rs. 35000 per Test. He receives Rs. 18000 for every One-day international, the report said.
