No draw at Durban since 2004
South Africa's win-loss record at home hasn't been great, but since their readmission to Tests, England's win in 2004-05 is the only time a team other than Australia beat them in a series at home

0 Home series lost by South Africa to teams other than Australia since England beat them 2-1 at home in 2004-05. Since then, South Africa have played 18 series at home and have won 12 of them. Australia have been the only team to beat them, winning series on three out of their four visits to this country. Apart from Australia, India and England have been the only teams to manage a drawn series in South Africa since 2004-05. South Africa's win-loss ratio at home in this period, though, ranks only sixth among the ten teams. Overall, apart from Australia, England are the only team to whom South Africa have lost a Test series at home.
1-4 South Africa's win-loss record at Kingsmead, Durban in the last five Tests. They had endured four consecutive losses at this venue before beating India by 10 wickets in their last Test. The last time the hosts played against England in Durban, they lost by an innings and 98 runs. Apart from that Test, the three other Tests between the two sides in Durban since South Africa's readmission have ended in draws.
2012 The last time England won an away Test series, which was in India. Since then England have played four away series and lost two: the 2013-14 Ashes and the recent series in the UAE against Pakistan.
0-2 South Africa's win-loss record against England at Kingsmead when this venue has hosted the first Test of a series. The last time a Test series between them started at this venue was in 1964-65, when South Africa lost by an innings and 104 runs. Kingsmead is hosting the first Test of a series for the first time since 2002, when South Africa hosted Pakistan.
2004 Last time a Test in Durban ended in a draw; incidentally England had been the visiting team on that occasion. Since then eight Tests played at this venue have all ended in a decisive result. Among grounds that have hosted at least five Tests since 2005, Kingsmead is one of only six venues that haven't seen a draw.
2000 Last time a team made a total of 400 in the first innings of a Test in Durban: South Africa made 420 against Sri Lanka. Since then, 12 Tests have seen a highest first-innings score of 369, by Australia in 2006. Among venues to host at least 10 Tests since 2000, Durban and Kandy are the only grounds where teams have failed to post a total of 400 or more in the first innings of a Test more than once. However, teams batting first at Kingsmead don't seem to be at a disadvantage with a win-loss record of 6-5 in Tests since 2000.
19.37 Average runs scored per dismissal on the second day of the last five Tests at Kingsmead. As many as 60 wickets have fallen on the second day in five Tests (an average of 12 wickets in a day), which are the most on any of the five days. Among 27 venues that have hosted at least five Tests since 2009, the average wickets to fall on the second day at Kingsmead are the highest in a day's play at any venue.

Hashim Amla is fifth on this list with 3361 runs and is 24 short of overtaking Gary Kirsten who is just above him.
32.63 Dale Steyn's bowling average in Tests against England - his worst against any opposition. Steyn has taken 46 wickets and two five-fors against them in 11 Tests. Amla, however, has done well in Tests against England having made 1104 runs at 52.57, with four hundreds - including a triple-hundred at The Oval in 2012 - and three fifties.
