Marcus North fashioned a recovery of sorts as Western Australia reached 335 against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval. Mark Cleary made inroads early on and WA were in a spot of bother at 3 for 75. North (116 not out) then took charge of proceedings and kept his end up. He was well supported by Murray Goodwin, who made 58. After WA were bowled out just before the close of play South Australia played out three overs to reach 13 for no loss by stumps.
