India's missing final thrust
Their strong batting line-up has, surprisingly, fallen short in accelerating in the last 10 overs when batting first in ODIs

Although India's batting line-up produced strong performances in Australia during the ODI series*, they have struggled on one front, and it has been a problem over the last two years. While setting targets, India haven't matched other international teams in making the most of the final 10 overs.

- India's run rate of 8.33 in the last 10 overs while batting first since January 2014 (when five or fewer wickets down) is the fourth worst among major international teams
- India's Nos. 5, 6 and 7 average 16.91 when coming in to bat after the 40th over since 2014. Only West Indies are worse
- Captain MS Dhoni has been dismissed seven times in 75 balls when coming in to bat after the 40th over since 2014
