It's actually quite interesting to see that England are just 1/8 to win the second Test, for that is not much shorter than the price they were to win the series 2-0. Obviously bet365 were impressed by Bangladesh's efforts in the first Test.

But though the minnows of the Test arena did indeed perform well, well above their average showings, in fact, I think that will actually work against them because England will be better focused second time round.

The fact remains that Bangladesh have won just two Tests away from home since progressing to the elite group of full Test nations and they are not about to add to that number by beating an England team in England, especially not one who are on something of a high after their Twenty20 World Cup win.

Ok, so some of the Test side were not involved in that win but they are far too good for Bangladesh even without home advantage. With it, they will win the series 2-0, it's as simple as that, and therefore if you didn't take the1/5 on offer for that correct score outcome before the first Test, I wouldn't try to persuade you not to take the same price for them to win at Old Trafford, regardlesss of the fact that you will need to put a lot of money down to make a good return.

Ryan Sidebottom is a more than able replacement for the injured Tim Bresnan and with more important matches to come, the chance to play for a place in the side should bring out the best in some of the players.

Kevin Pietersen generally only gets going when it's the big stage and playing against Bangladesh is not that. He is the second favourite at 10/3 to top-score for England in the first innings but you might be better off taking the 3/1 on offer for the captain Andrew Strauss, who will be looking to lead from the front.

Better still, there is absolutely no reason why Jonathan Trott will not perform almost as well as he did in the first Test. Bet365 go 4/1 on him coming out on top in the first innings and that might be good value.
