He was a pioneer and innovator in many aspects ,his intimidating running between the wickets,his cavalier stroke play,being the first to wear sunglasses on the field while he also paved the way for players to be compensated well for their bat contracts. He owned the one day game and his mere presence was worth an extra man at the MCG. I was privileged to room with him in Madras where he made his iconic double century in the tied test and we shared the field at Eden gardens the following year when we won the World Cup as the underdogs. So many great memories, all of which bring a smile to my face. The 'Legend' will live on long after we are all gone.
