Pakistan local: Aga Khan Gymkhana triumph

Karachi, Dec 18: A third-wicket partnership of 149 between Arif Pyarali and Suleman Huda enabled Aga Khan Gymkhana defeat Rafiq Shirazi Memorial CC by seven wickets in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Tournament here on Monday.

Chasing a target of 186, Aga Khan Gymkhana won the match in a dramatic 24th over when Jaffer Qureshi blasted leg-spinner Zafar Ali for three consecutive sixes. Jaffer finished with 20 off just four balls.

Arif Pyarali contributed 81 off 58 deliveries with eight fours and one six while Suleman remained unbeaten with 68 off 66 balls. His knock included three fours and one six. Earlier, after electing to bat first, Rafiq Shirazi Memorial CC made 185 for five in their stipulated quota of 25 overs.

Iftikhar Ahmed top-scored with 69 off 48 balls. He struck four fours and two sixes. Kamil Khan hit 35 off 21 balls with three fours and a six.
