Karachi, Dec 19: Mian Azmat Professionals (MAP), one of the strongest club sides in the city, failed to make the semi-finals of the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Tournament when they suffered an unexpected five-wicket defeat against Mohammad Hussain CC at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground here on Tuesday.

MAP finished third behind qualifiers Aga Khan Gymkhana and Rafiq Shirazi Memorial CC in Group A.

After electing to bat first, MAP scored 154 for seven in 25 overs despite a brilliant knock of 75 by young Saeed bin Nasir. Saeed's 67-ball innings contained three fours and one six.

All-rounder Sharjeel Ashraf claimed three for 29 with his off-spinners. Mohammad Hussain CC, in reply, reached their target in 23.5 overs by scoring 155 for five.

Sharjeel Ashraf completed a fine all-round performance as he contributed an unbeaten 66 off 65 balls with two fours and one six.

Fringe Pakistan batsman Faisal Iqbal stroked three fours and one six to make 57 off 47 deliveries.

Left-arm medium-pacer Imranullah bowled superbly to take four for 33.
