India dominated the first match of the five-game one-day series but they know Pakistan have a great record in India and oodles of potential so they will not want to take their foot off the gas in the second match of the series, to be played in Mohali on Thursday.

Mohali is usually a pitch that offers plenty to the pace bowlers, so expect both teams to go for speed above spin. That's bad news for one of Harbhajan Singh or Murali Kartik, but history is important on this ground. Sreesanth will be standing by to come in and he could perform well.

Pakistan will also have a massive swell of support in Mohali, as they always do, where Punjabi is the local language, so the atmosphere should be electric, while the lights could play a big part. The late afternoon dew is a big factor here and combined with the lights, the team batting second may have a big struggle on their hands.

What makes this series so difficult to predict is that there is so little between the two teams on paper. Pakistan are rebuilding but are always dangerous and with Shoaib Akhtar likely to be better for his run-out in the opening match, they will be tough. Bet365 make them 6/5 (2.20) to India's 8/13 (1.61).

Sachin to shine? Akmal a threat
Sachin Tendulkar missed out in the opening match, which to me just makes him a bigger threat each time until he succeeds. Though his record against Pakistan in India is very poor compared to his outstanding overall record, he averages 47 in Mohaliso could produce.

Tendulkar is the 3/1 favourite to be his side's top runscorer, just ahead of the in-form and superb Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly, who are all 4/1. Of the three, former skipper Ganguly averages 50 there.

Gautam Gambhir is a 9/2 chance while captain MS Dhoni is 5/1 and Robin Uthappa is 13/2.

Pakistan's market is headed by Mohammad Yousuf at 11/4. Yousuf looks so untroubled at the crease that he makes watching him bat a pleasure, and he backs it up with consistently good performances, as he showed in the first match with an unbeaten 83.

Younis Khan, who is not too far behind his colleague in ability, is next at 7/2, while Imran Nazir and Salman Butt are 9/2 and captain Shoaib Malik is 5/1. Yasir Hameed is 6/1 and don't be surprised if Kamran Akmal gets among the runs. The keeper scored a Test century on the same ground, so he will have good memories and at 13/2 could surprise.

Tendulkar missed out in the first match but as I said, that doesn't happen too often, so take him and Ganguly to outscore their opening counterparts, at 4/6. And keep an eye on the toss as I'd have to favour the side batting first.
