Wayne Parnell, who captained South Africa Under-19s at the World Cup in Malaysia earlier this year, has been named in the Emerging Players squad to face Australia's Institute of Sport, plus sides from India and New Zealand in Brisbane.
Parnell is the youngest member of the 14-man squad which will play three Twenty20 matches and a quadrangular series. Offspinner Thandi Tshabalala is the only player with international experience having appeared in four ODIs.
Ethy Mbhalati, the Titans fast bowler, is a late replacement for Rory Kleinveldt, and finished as the second highest wicket-taker in the Pro20 last season. The squad is led by Ahmed Amla, brother of Test No.3 Hashim Amla.
