Pathan reprimanded following ICC Code of Conduct Breach

Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan has been reprimanded for a breach of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Code of Conduct following a gesture towards Australian batsman Damien Martyn in the deciding VB Series final at the Sydney Cricket Ground last night.

ICC match referee Clive Lloyd found Pathan guilty of a Level 1 breach under Rule C1 - unfair play.

Pathan, 19, was reported by field umpires Rudi Koertzen and Daryl Harper, and third umpire Simon Taufel. The reprimand was issued following a hearing directly after the close of play.

Clive Lloyd said: "It's important that players and team officials at all times conduct themselves within the spirit of the game."
