PCB announces personnel changes

Mr Zahid Bashir has been appointed as Director Marketing of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He assumed the charge on January 8, 2003.

Zahid, 42, has done MBA in marketing from United States. He was one of the members of the PCB Advisory Council in early 2000 and later became board's marketing consultant before resigning last year because of business commitments.

"It is an honour to be associated with such an enterprising and dynamic organization like the Pakistan Cricket Board. I will do my level best to enhance the image of the PCB, bring more sponsorships so that cricket flourishes and development works stay on course," Zahid Bashir said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt Gen Tauqir Zia has accepted the resignation of Col (retd) Mohammad Parvaiz, PCB's General Manager Administration. He would, however, continue to perform his duties until January 31, 2003.

"I must thank Col Parvaiz for his excellent contributions in enhancing the reputation of the cricket board. He has been an excellent ambassador of the PCB. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors," the Chairman said.
