PCB releases details of new domestic cricket structure
News: PCB releases domestic cricket structure details
Rameez Raja, the new chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), announced details of a revamped domestic structure for the forthcoming Pakistan 2002-03 season at a press conference on Thursday.
Rameez said the PCB hoped the new structure would finally bridge the gulf between Pakistan's domestic and the international cricket.
He emphasised that regional teams would be assisted in finding sponsors and funding so that an equitable salary could be paid to players. He was hopeful this would reduce the migration of players into commercial teams.
A total of 622 matches will be played in the season, from the Under-19 upwards, in addition to the other youth and school cricket tournaments organised.
