In presenting the Dudi Silbowitz Division 1 Trophy to Lions Lod, ICA Chairman Stanley Perlman made mention of the outstanding man in whose honor the trophy is named. Dudi Silbowitz was an exceptional sportsman and cricketer in particular who grew up in South Africa. He turned down a Rhodes scholarship to fulfill his lifelong dream and make aliya to Israel. He settled on Kibbutz Jezreel, located in the north of Israel, for whom he played cricket. Silbowitz was killed during the 1973 Yom Kippur war, when his tank was hit by an Egyptian missile.

Perlman complimented Lions Lod on yet another successful season which saw them continue their dominance of the domestic game much like Australia has dominated international cricket in recent years.

The Ben Abraham Division 2 trophy was presented to Dimona C. Ben Abraham arrived in Israel in the early dates of the State, and immediately set about establishing cricket in Be'er Sheva, together with his sons.

The Asher Jaulikar Division 3 trophy was won by Sitar Eilat. In just their first season playing cricket in Israel, Eilat were complimented on their commitment and desire to play, driving a total of six hours each week just to play their home games.

In his annual report, Perlman began by commenting on the situation at the 2006 European Championships in Scotland which saw the Israel team play just three of their scheduled five matches due to threats of anti-Israel protests, and the inability of the host association to provide venues. The ICA introduced the ICC Code of Conduct for the coming season, falling into line with ICC policy. Looking ahead to the future, grandiose plans for new cricket facilities in the South and center of the country were mentioned, new ideas to boost the youth development program were unveiled and the intention was made of establishing closer relationships with India and Sri Lanka, building on the successful tour of the Israel youth team to India earlier this year.
