Pitch panel clears Basingstoke pitch

The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced that a Pitch Panel, comprising of Pitch Liaison Officers Tony Brown and Mike Denness, met today to deliberate on the Basingstoke pitch used for this week's PPP healthcare County Championship match between Hampshire CCC and Durham CCC. The Panel marked the pitch as being 'below average', and consequently there was no point penalty imposed.
