Ponting now clear favourite

As if we didn't already know it, Ricky Ponting showed just why he was favourite to be his side's top runscorer in the Ashes after his fabulous 150 in Cardiff and he has been cut to just 6/4 to come out on top.

Ponting was second to Justin Langer when the two sides met in England four years ago and topped the list in the 5-0 drubbing Down Under last time out.

Having been 5/2 before a ball was bowled in Cardiff, he is now 6/4, which is about right if he continues to bat the way he did in the first Test, when he was simply brilliant.

Simon Katich is now just 10/3 while Marcus North is 7/1, the same price as Michael Clarke, and Brad Haddin is 8/1, with the last three having all scored hundreds in Cardiff. The big mover is Phil Hughes, who has gone out to 11/1 from just 7/2.
