Team's around the world are finalizing their Champions Trophy squads
Team's around the world are finalizing their Champions Trophy squads. Although Israel will not be participating in that tournament, the national selectors have been hard at work all the same, selecting the preliminary squad for the Maccabiah Games, to be held in Israel late July. The cricket event will be the largest yet, with the traditional participants Australia, England, India and South Africa joined by Canada as well.
Raymond Aston, with almost 20 years experience in the national team, takes over the captaincy from Herschel Gutman, already with enough on his plate as player coach. The 21-man squad, to be trimmed to 14 ahead of the tournament, includes new faces Raz Ben Zaken from Dimona and Matt Hoffmann from Ra'anana, whilst all the others have had some sort of international experience.
Squad: Raymond Aston (Captain, Young Ashdod), Shmuel Moses, Danny Malyankar (Young Ashdod), Eliezer Samson (Lod Rangers), Josh Evans, Matt Hoffmann, Dovi Myers, Gabi Schachat, Daniel Hyman, Danny Hotz, Herschel Gutman (Ra'anana), Yaniv Razpurker, Matan Razpurker, Itamar Kehimkar (Neve Yonatan), Eshkol Solomon, Shailesh Bangerra (Lions Lod), Safania Nagavkar (Dimona C), Raz Ben Zaken, Nir Dokarkar (Dimona A), Ronen Waskar, Shifron Waskar (Lions Be'er Sheva)
