Ray Price, the former Zimbabwe left-arm spinner, has ended his three-and-a-half year stint at Worcestershire after rejecting a new one-year contract for next season.

Price, 31, was instrumental in helping Worcestershire win the Pro40 Division One title this year, their first honour for 13 years. But he played just two Championship games all summer and was frustrated at the lack of opportunities.

"At times it has been frustrating watching from the sidelines," Price admitted, "but to be part of a title-winning side this year has been a fantastic experience.''

Mark Newton, the Worcestershire chief executive, said: "We will be very sorry to see Ray go, because he has been an integral part of our one-day success in recent years.

"He and his family are lovely people to work with, and we have told Ray that we are only a phone call away. He could undoubtedly perform at the highest level for a few more years yet.''
