PWCCA denies reports about settlement with PCB
Press Release: PWCCA denies media reports about settlement with PCB
A news item appearing in the press has ascribed a statement to Mr. Samiul Hasan, spokesman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), to the effect that the differences between PCB and Shaiza Group have ended. This declaration is totally wrong and absolutely baseless.
Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association (PWCCA) (referred to as 'Shaiza Khan Group' in the news report) had filed a suit against PCB in the Honourable Court of Mr Sana Ateeq Khan, whereupon the Honourable Court issued a Restraining Order. A request for Contempt of Court on what seems a violation of this Order by PCB is also under consideration of the Court, and the next hearing is scheduled to take place on 8th July 2003.
Miss Shaiza Khan has firmly and vehemently rejected the reported claim of the spokesman of PCB and has made it unmistakably clear that her consistent approach is based on principles and that PCB, with its intransigence and seeming violation of Court's Orders, appears to be demonstrating a sense of utter irresponsibility.
Shaiza Khan has further categorically stated that no compromise or settlement whatsoever has been arrived at between the PWCCA and PCB or between the parties' respective counsels. Miss Shaiza Khan resolutely sticks to her principled stand and she will continue to explore all lawful avenues for seeking justice to her cause.
