QEA Trophy Fourth Round: Day-4 report
Media Release: PCB report on QEA round 4, fourth day
Fast bowler Nadeem Ashraf claimed six wickets for Faisalabad but still couldn't stop Wapda from picking up three first innings lead point as the weather-hit fourth round of the QEA Trophy concluded Saturday.
Nadeem finished with six for 65 as Wapda closed at 190 for eight while replying to Faisalabad's 163.
At the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi, Karachi Whites earned three first innings points when their match against Multan ended in a draw. Multan, who surrendered a 89-run first innings lead to the home team, finished at 175 for five after being set a victory target of 302.
Earlier, Asim Khan stroked an unbeaten 104 from 142 balls as Karachi declared their second innings at 212 for six after starting the day at 91 for one.
At Bahawalpur, the home team was denied maximum points when they were held to a thrilling draw by Pak PWD. Needing 76 for victory in 14 overs, the home team finished at 67 for seven.
PWD, who had conceded a huge 197-run first innings lead, were earlier in the day dismissed for 272 with opener Faisal Athar hitting 137 from 275 balls.
Kamran Hussain bowled well for Bahawalpur and picked up five wickets for 43 runs. Imranullah took four wickets for 103 runs.
No points were awarded in the remaining five matches as the required one full innings for each team couldn't be completed.
