Scorecard.
Having waited all morning for the rain to subside, Eastern Province were sent in to bat at 1.15pm local time, with the game reduced to 34 overs each. In trouble from as early as the third over, they struggled to recover, and when rain had the players leaving the field after an hour's play they were struggling at 40 for 4 off 13 overs. On resumption the game was reduced to a 21-over affair, and Eastern Province lifted their score to 96 for 5.
During the innings break the heavens once again opened up, resulting in the umpires calling the match off.
