Report & results for Sunningdale Golf Day

Wednesday 29th October brought the first rainy golf day for the Testimonial Year - unfortunately! Although, after only about an hour or so the rain cleared away and the 18 teams who took part in this fabulous day on the Old Course at Sunningdale enjoyed a marvellous, but challenging, day of golf. Several celebrities were there to share in this memorable day, including Gary Linekar, Francois Pienaar and Gladstone Small. Following the golf was a sumptous lunch in the clubhouse of this historic golf club, where guests were treated to footballing stories from Ron "Chopper" Harris and the latest updates on the Rugby World Cup from Francois Pienaar.

The format for the day was 4-ball stableford, with the best 2 scores to count on each hole, and the scores were very close. The prize winners were:

1st place:
Marquis Jet
Rob Hersov, Bertrand Costes, James Deen and Declan Walsh
With 85 points

2nd place:
Dermot Desmond in Absentia
Blaise Craven, Richard Upton, Michael Buckley and Peter Chalk
With 84 points (on countback)

3rd place:
Quality Forum
Tony Britten, Terry Sparks, Richard Roberts and Shaun Udal
With 84 points

Longest Drive was won by Shaun Udal, of Quality Forum

Nearest the Pin was won by John Bailey, of the Hendy Group

There was a "wooden spoon" prize to the unlucky team to finish last
