Resignation of Chairman, Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee

Sri Lanka Cricket would like to announce that Mr. Jayantha Dharmadasa has forwarded his resignation as Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee with effect from 01st January 2008 due to personal reasons.

In his letter to Mr. S. Liyanagama Secretary Ministry of Sports & Public Recreation Mr. Jayantha Dharmadasa has thanked His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Hon Ministers Mr. Gamini Lokuge and Mr. Jeevan Kumaranatunga for having confidence in him and entrusting the position of Chairman at Sri Lanka Cricket. He has also extended his deepest gratitude to the past and present members of the Interim Committee, Chief Executive and members of the staff of Sri Lanka Cricket for their support given to him at all times during his tenure as the Chairman. In his letter he has not forgotten to extend his wishes to Mahela and the Sri Lanka National Team as well as the Sri Lanka 'A' Team and Junior Teams.

Mr. Dharmadasa would also like to place on record his appreciation and sincere thanks to all media for their assistance and support in giving the due recognition to cricket in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to thank Mr. Dharmadasa for his valuable contributions to uplift the game of Cricket in the country.
