Dr Damien McCann, the WACA physician, said that both sides of Campbell's groin were affected and that the rest and strength and conditioning program were ineffective. Campbell will be unable to train for three weeks, and will then go through a complete rehabilitation program.

Campbell has played first-class cricket for close to a decade and has scored more than 5000 runs in 81 games. He played two one-dayers for Australia and scored 54 runs.
