Sarwan named Guyana 20/20 captain

Ramnaresh Sarwan has been appointed captain of the Guyana team for the Stanford 20/20 tournament.

The West Indies vice-captain, who has been bypassed for the job in the past, will replace Shivnarine Chanderpaul, according to an announcement by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB).

The Guyana board said Chanderpaul has pledged his support for Sarwan to ensure that Guyana does well at the tournament, which will be played next month in Antigua.

Guyana also appointed Carl Moore as manager of the team and Albert Smith as coach.
