Chris Schofield will have to wait until at least April 22 to discover whether his claim for unfair dismissal against Lancashire has been successful. The second day of Schofield's employment tribunal in Manchester ended without a decision.
Schofield was not handed a new contract by Lancashire at the end of the 2004 season, but was only told of the decision late in September, and claims this hindered his chances of finding a new county. He also claims that the appraisal procedure written into county contracts was not followed properly by the club.
Oral submissions from both parties will be heard at the tribunal on April 22, when a decision could be reached. This means that Lancashire will start their Championship season, against Somerset at Old Trafford, with the issue still hanging over them.
