Scotland will play England in a Twenty20 match at Trent Bridge on June 2 ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 which gets underway the following week.
England had been scheduled to be involved in the Stanford quadrangular Twenty20 tournament at the end of May, but with the ECB cutting all ties with Allen Stanford, there is now a gap in the calendar.
"This is really tremendous news," said Roddy Smith, the chief executive of Cricket Scotland. "We played the first-ever ODI against England only last year. Now we're being pitched in against them in this Twenty20 warm-up game. You can be certain that our players will be up for the challenge, and in this short form of the game anything can happen."
"We're really looking forward to these games," Scotland captain Ryan Watson said. "They should be a lot of fun, and a highlight of the forthcoming season. However, our thoughts are firmly on the forthcoming ICC World Cup Qualifier in South Africa. We cannot afford to look any further ahead than that."
Scotland will travel down to The Oval the following day to play against Netherlands in their second and final warm-up.
