The season finally got underway over the weekend, with Ra'anana 1 convincingly beating Be'er Sheva in Be'er Sheva in a Division 1 game played on Friday. Asked to bat first, the hosts were dimissed for just 126, with only captain Moshe Chirekar (29) making a meaningful contribution, as the Be'er Sheva batsmen showed no application or patience in gifting their wickets away, one after the other, to tight bowling backed up by sharp fielding. Ra'anana captain Steven Shein took six for 28, and Ashwini Ratnoo two for nine.
The visitors eased to their target with opening batsman Josh Evans impressing with 45, and Gabi Schachat (41*) completing the job.
The other Division 1 matches scheduled for the weekend were postponed due to the Pesach holiday.
