KARACHI, Aug 29: Shahid Khan Afridi, the young Test all-rounder was presented with a gold medal by the Khyber Cultural Society Khyber Agency in a colourful ceremony held at a local hotel, Peshawar, according to a message received over here.
The chief guest Latif Afridi, member of the National Assembly, speaking on the occasion said the world record holder will be honoured with a cricket stadium constructed after his name.
Mohammad Shah, a Senator announced a donation of Rs.20 lakhs towards construction of the Shahid Afridi cricket stadium.
Another Senator, Malik Bazgul, also spoke on the occasion. A large number of Provincial Assembly members and many other sports personalities were also present at the ceremony.
