South Africa A's selectors have kept faith with the victorious squad who beat New Zealand A in the final of the Triangular Series in Sri Lanka last week. The only absentee from the reduced 13-man squad that will be led by Jacques Rudolph is the Highveld Lions fast bowler, Garnett Kruger.
Haroon Lorgat, the convenor of selectors, expressed his satisfaction over the recent performances of the squad in Sri Lanka. "This squad has shown character and consistency and it is important for us to continue to show faith in their ability. They have done well and there was no need to tamper with a winning formula."
The squad will play two one-day tour matches against New Zealand. The opening encounter will be a day/night match at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Friday, October 14 and the second clash is scheduled for Sedgars Park in Potchefstroom on Sunday, October 16.
Squad Jacques Rudolph (capt), Thami Tsolekile (v-c), Loots Bosman, Johan Botha, Zander de Bruyn, Tyron Henderson, Albie Morkel, Justin Ontong, Robin Peterson, Andrew Puttick, Dale Steyn, Johan van der Wath, Monde Zondeki.
