Aiden Blizzard, meanwhile, is expected to make his first-class debut, and said he was "really pumped up".

The pair replace Gerard Denton, who has ankle soreness, and Brad Hodge, who has Australian Twenty20 commitments. David Hussey will captain the team for the match, after flying back in from Perth, where he was playing for the Chairman's XI against New Zealand.

Blizzard was thrilled with his first-class chance. "I'm really pumped up and can't wait to get into it," he said. "I've had a taste of interstate cricket through the Ford Ranger Cup and Twenty20 competitions, but wearing the Victorian cap in a first-class game is a dream come true. It's been a challenge to earn this opportunity so I want to grab it with both hands."
