So long India, we'll be back

At the airport, on our way to the IPL, there is a sense of loss on leaving a country we have come to love in just a few days

The PA just made the announcement and I kind of feel empty. Strange, considering that I have been here only for a few days, but within this short span of time I could feel a sense of bonding building up with Bangalore and its people. Right now, sitting in the airport I can see all the girls lounging around as we wait to board another marathon flight all the way to Johannesburg.

So here I sit, sipping on a can of Coke, with my laptop. (God, I love technology.) We've still got an hour before take-off and I think it is a poignant moment to record my last memories of India, a country I am sure to visit again.

The airport food was spicy and I am kind of worried about it but am sure it's gonna be okay. I can remember mom's dire warnings about how I should completely stay clear of spicy food, but gotta say, mutton rogan josh is quite dishy. I don't even know why we got loads of protein bars all the way from home. People back home can be so fatalistic. All those warnings about not getting proper food in India.

Don't know what the next two weeks will be like, but I will surely miss the people of India. There is so much warmth, so much colour and so much life that it is unbelievable.

The only sound I can hear now is the occasional staccato of the PA system and I can see that everyone in our team is a little sad.

But we are kicked. We are going to cheer our hearts out for the Royal Challengers and make them win every single game of the tournament. The Mischief Gals are all set to rock. So till we land in South Africa, adios amigos.
