And with momentum in their favour, the home side look absolutely nailed on to win Wednesday's final match, not least because they are the better side. Even 4/9 is a good price, while there may not be too many takers of Pakistan at 13/8.
I have lost count of the number of times that Shaun Pollock has removed one or both of the opening batsman, both in Test and one-day cricket and the great man did the same thing in the last match, setting South Africa on their way.
Their seam attack was too good for Pakistan and though Inzamam-ul-Haq's side are talented, their fight appears to have gone and I'd be amazed if they manage to force a tie in the series.
Kallis the man
Jacques Kallis has been in great form of late and he is the 10/3 favourite to be his side's top runscorer on Wednesday.
Captain Graeme Smith is 7/2, AB de Villiers is 4/1 and Herschelle Gibbs is 9/2, with Leon Bosman at 6/1 and Ashwell Prince 8/1.
Pakistan's outstanding batsman, Mohammad Yousuf, is the obvious favourite to be his side's top bat, at 3/1.
Younis Khan is 7/2 while Inzamam is 5/1 and Imran Nazir is 11/2. Imran Farhat and Mohammad Hafeez are available at 6/1. Kamran Akmal is 13/2.
