"The committee formed to decide on the Bihar-Jharkhand affiliation issue has recommended to the board that the undivided association be given back its affiliation," a top board official said. "The states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh too have been bi or trifurcated but the original cricket association has remained as the board's affiliated unit unlike Bihar. The recommendation of the committee on the matter is to be taken up at another special general meeting that has been convened in Chennai on August 16."

The BCCI's previous regime, masterminded by Jagmohan Dalmiya with Ranbir Singh Mahendra at its helm, had disaffiliated the Bihar association and in its place given affiliation to Jharkhand. The dispute has resurfaced with both factions and a few more that have cropped up seeking affiliation to the board.

The other item on the agenda of the SGM of the board is about hosting an AIDS benefit tie and ties of similar nature in future, the official added. The BCCI's working committee will meet later in the day to finalise the annual reports and accounts before the upcoming AGM in September.
