Sreesanth to play for Kerala

Sreesanth, the India fast bowler, will use Kerala's last match in the Ranji Trophy Plate League to game to prove his fitness

While Kerala have an outside chance of making to the Ranji Trophy Plate League semi-finals, their last league match against Jharkhand in Ranchi gains extra significance because Sreesanth, the India fast bowler, will use the game to prove his fitness. First a side strain, and then a stiff back, has kept Sreesanth out of the Indian squad. He last played for India in the Kanpur Test in April this year.

"I am absolutely 100% fit and raring to go," Sreesanth told PTI. "I am feeling great and looking forward to the match ahead." Sreesanth said he was not thinking about the comeback to the national side just as yet, and was concentrating on his fitness and the matches ahead.

Kerala are five points behind second-placed Haryana, and need at least a win - preferably with a bonus point - to give themselves a chance of making it to the semi-finals. In order for that to happen, Haryana will have to lose their last game against Jammu & Kashmir in Rohtak.
