Reports from Zimbabwe had suggested that Sri Lanka had pulled out of the tour because of security concerns. SLC officials, however, have denied this is the case, saying they want the A team players to play in the new domestic provincial tournament that starts in Jan.

All Sri Lanka's senior players, including members of the national side, will participate in the new four-team tournament

Sri Lanka's senior tour of Zimbabwe, which is scheduled for April and May 2004, will go-ahead as planned. Sri Lanka will play two Tests and five one-day internationals.
