Sri Lanka's government has announced that fresh cricket board elections will be held on July 15, ending a 15-month period of administration by a government-appointed Interim Committee.
The government appointed the Interim Committee last year after allegations of financial mismanagement were levied at an Executive Committed led by Mohan de Silva. No formal charges were levied against de Silva's committee and the conclusions of an internal investigation were not publicised.
Nominations for the forthcoming Annual General Meeting will close on July 1. The elections, held under the supervision of the Sports Ministry, will then take place two weeks later.
No candidates have yet confirmed their willingness to stand for the top post of board president.
