Jehan Mubarak gets 129
A splendid 129 by Jehan Mubarak who put on 217 runs for the third wicket with Ruchira Jayasuriya helped Royal to a massive 331 for 6 in their Schools Under-17 Division I semi-final cricket match with traditional rivals S. Thomas' at Mount Lavinia yesterday. The Thomians were 5 for 1 at close.
Mubarak's 129 included 10 boundaries and a six, while Jayasuriya, who made 86 stroked eight boundaries.
The match continues today.
Royal 331 for 6 in 95 overs (M. Thotuwilage 18, Jehan Mubarak 129, Ruchira Jayasuriya 86, A. Kariyakarawana 30, S. Saldin not out 21, S. Fernando 21, A. Paranawitharne 2 for 26, M. Gunawardene 2 for 30).
