SRI LANKA v INDIA 1985-86
At P
At P. Saravanamuttu Stadium, Colombo, September 22. No result. When bad light prevented any further play - it was felt in some quarter that the offer to go off was made prematurely - Sri Lanka were perilously placed at 32 for four in reply to India's 194 in 40 overs. Vengsarkar, with his third half-century of the series, had pushed up his side's run-rate after India had started shakily. With the light deteriorating, the Sri Lankans set out to chase 72 in fifteen overs (the minimum overs required for a result) and lost wickets quickly.
